Actemium specialise in the bespoke design and fabrication of process related projects working to and operating under BS EN1090 classifications. We are looking to appoint a competent TIG Pipe Welder to join our team. Competitive Salary Pension Health shield Share Scheme Reporting directly to the Manufacturing/Works Manager, your duties will include: Being able to read and interpret engineering drawings or product specifications including the understanding of welding symbols to determine build sequence, methods of fabricating & assemblies. Layout and mark dimensions and reference information on material. Complete weld set-ups and welding using TIG and Orbital welding equipment. General: Follow company rules and adhere to procedures & Health and Safety standards. Coded 6G TIG welding. Welding of Stainless and carbon steel tube/pipe to radiograph standards. Positional welding on pressure vessels, pressure parts and superheater pipework. Working between workshop and site to deliver projects as required. Work as part of a team to produce orders on time. Ensure tolerances and parameters are met to satisfy quality and output. Prepare / process materials prior to assembly. Check products for compliance with specifications and quality requirements. Comply with established quality control procedures and documentation standards. To check welding plant / equipment prior to and after use highlighting any faults/ defects to the Fabrication Shop Supervisor. Ensure production timings are met. Reinstate the work area following engineering activities. The Person Experience: (Essential): Previous qualifications/coding's in 6G/equivalent. Perform welding operations to a radiographic standard. Ability to read engineering drawings. Worked on various material gauges, with single and multi-run welds. Other related fitting experience would be advantageous. Competent to work in silo from start to project completion. Skills: Weld to a radiograph standard and complete pipe coding’s as required. Weld trade test will be required which will be x-rayed. Be skilled with various fitting & fabrication techniques. Demonstrate the safe use of associated equipment including abrasive wheels, grinders etc. Good communicator at all levels. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Keen attention to detail. Knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation. Ability to work in a safe manner with minimal supervision. Qualifications: (Desirable): Time served apprentice. City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3 or BTEC ONC equivalent qualification. NVQ Level 3 in fabrication & Welding / Plating & Welding.
