Role description: Our Apprenticeship programme offers you an exciting opportunity to jump straight into the professional world and earn a living whilst also studying for professional qualifications. As an Apprentice you will play an active part in driving your career development and will be exposed to a variety of projects across the business. Technical experience is key in our sector, which is why we will provide you with a clear framework to work towards chartership. You’ll be part of a supportive Early Careers community and will work alongside skilled professionals. You’ll benefit from structured on-the-job training, mentoring, plus funding and support for accreditations relevant to your programme, as well as the assistance you need to develop and succeed. Role accountabilities: Our civil engineering community works across a range of sectors including highways, rail, energy and water management. Our work varies and covers projects of all scales across the sectors; A highways engineer contributes to the design and development of safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation systems, and is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the overall quality of our road infrastructure. A rail engineer works on all aspects of Civil Engineering, from earthworks to drainage and across all types of structures. They use materials from timber, steelwork, reinforced concrete to wood to support the Railway and provide the most viable and efficient solutions for our customers. No matter the sector, our programme is an opportunity for you to grow your skills and ability in the delivery of sustainable solutions. The work will potentially involve some site work visits and inspections. On this apprenticeship you will complete, the following standard on a day release basis. For England; BEng/BSc Civil Engineer Degree through one of our agreed training providers; University of Salford and University of the West of England, Bristol. For Scotland; BEng Civil Engineer Degree through our agreed training provider University of Strathclyde. Qualifications & Experience: For England: Have gained a minimum of 5 GCSE qualifications, grade 4-9 Including Maths and English. And 3 A-Levels, or equivalent qualifications at BBC minimum to include Maths or Physics, or BTEC National Diploma at DMM minimum, or T-Level at Distinction minimum. For Scotland: Have gained a minimum of 4 National Level 5 qualifications, grade 4-9 Including Maths and English. And 4 Highers or equivalent qualifications at grade B minimum, including Maths. Be a UK/EU/EAA resident for at least three years prior to starting the course and have the right to work in the UK (Apprentice Only) 18 (Level 6) years old and have left full time education when the apprenticeship starts (Apprentice Only) You will demonstrate typical Arcadian skills including Resilience, Creativity, Analytical Thinking and being a Team Player You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to use your technical knowledge to influence and consult stakeholders.
