An excellent opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic, committed, adaptable individual with an interest in working in Pharmacy Aseptics.
The successful applicant will become part of a busy team working within our licensed aseptic unit at Singleton Hospital offering a high quality service to our Health Board patients. The aseptic unit provides a wide range of injectable medicines in a ready to use form including cytotoxic chemotherapy, monoclonal antibody therapies, parenteral nutrition and clinical trials medicines.
Main duties of the job
The work will include cleaning, monitoring & maintenance of equipment & facilities, stock management of medicines & consumables, assembly of batches & orders and the aseptic preparation & dispensing of medicines. Previous pharmacy experience is recommended. Applicants will be expected to undergo training and successfully achieve NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services following appointment.

Person Specification
Experience
* Be computer literate, being able to use Microsoft Office and have basic keyboard skills.
* Good numeracy and literacy skills including: calculations, percentages, decimals, fractions.
* Previous relevant experience of working in a Pharmacy, healthcare manufacturing or laboratory or scientific environment.
Skills/Knowledge
* Able to carry out verbal and written instructions accurately.
* Able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing, able to concentrate when frequently under pressure and subject to interruptions.
* Ability to work to a full range of local pharmacy codes and procedures.
Qualifications
* 5 GCSE A to C grade or equivalent.
* NVQ Level 3 or able to demonstrate the equivalent level of knowledge, skills and experience in pharmacy technical services or equivalent level qualification in a relevant subject e.g. healthcare, laboratory, scientific or manufacturing qualification (committed to obtaining this).
