We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic PE Teacher to join a progressive Alternative Provision / PRU in Romford. This full-time, contract role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students who thrive in a non-mainstream setting.
As a PE Teacher, you will deliver engaging and tailored physical education lessons that promote teamwork, resilience, and overall well-being. You will be working with students who may have faced barriers to learning in mainstream settings, ensuring they remain motivated, active, and supported in their personal and academic development.
This role is ideal for a PE Teacher who is passionate about making sports accessible and meaningful for young people in an alternative provision setting. Experience is desirable but not essential, as professional development opportunities are available.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons tailored to students’ individual needs and abilities.
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes well-being and physical fitness.
* Motivate and inspire students to develop confidence and skills in a range of sports and activities.
* Support students in developing teamwork, resilience, and positive behaviour through structured physical education sessions.
* Work closely with colleagues and support staff to ensure the PE curriculum is accessible to all students.
* Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies to maximise engagement and learning outcomes.
* Uphold the school’s safeguarding policies to ensure the welfare of all students.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* A strong knowledge of the PE curriculum and experience delivering sports programmes.
* Experience working in an Alternative Provision, PRU, or with students with additional needs is desirable but not essential.
* Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
* A passion for supporting students who require an alternative approach to learning.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
