Job Title: Sports Coach
Location: Liverpool, Bootle, Litherland, Lydiate and Southport
Job Type: Full-time/Part time
Introduction: We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Sports Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about sports, motivated to inspire athletes, and committed to promoting a positive and safe environment. As a Sports Coach, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality coaching sessions, fostering teamwork, and ensuring the welfare of all participants by adhering to safeguarding policies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coaching & Training:
o Plan, organize, and deliver engaging sports coaching sessions that cater to the skill levels and needs of participants.
o Develop sport-specific drills, exercises, and activities that enhance performance, teamwork, and player development.
o Monitor and track participants’ progress, providing feedback and guidance to improve their skills.
2. Safeguarding & Welfare:
o Adhere strictly to safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants, particularly children and vulnerable adults.
o Respond promptly to any safeguarding concerns and report them as per the organization’s guidelines.
o Foster a positive and inclusive environment, ensuring equal opportunities for all athletes, regardless of their background.
3. Health & Safety:
o Ensure that all training equipment and facilities are safe and well-maintained.
o Conduct risk assessments prior to coaching sessions to identify and mitigate potential risks.
o Promote the importance of fitness, health, and injury prevention among participants.
4. Team Collaboration:
o Work closely with other coaches, volunteers, and staff to ensure smooth operation of the program.
o Assist in organizing sports events, competitions, and other activities as required.
o Encourage teamwork and collaboration among participants to build a strong sense of community and sportsmanship.
5. Administration & Communication:
o Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and any incidents or accidents that may occur.
o Communicate effectively with participants, parents/guardians, and other relevant stakeholders regarding schedules, updates, and concerns.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Essential:
* Relevant coaching qualifications (e.g., National Governing Body coaching certification).
* Strong knowledge of the sport(s) being coached.
* Previous experience in coaching, teaching, or working with children or young people.
* Knowledge of safeguarding policies and commitment to implementing them.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to motivate and inspire athletes at various skill levels.
* A valid First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable:
* Experience working with children or young people in a sports environment.
* Additional coaching qualifications in other sports or areas of personal development.
* A DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or willingness to undergo one.
