About the role The Natural History Museum Tring, in Hertfordshire, welcomes 150,000 visitors a year to our Victorian galleries and grounds. From toddlers to adults, including school educational groups and adult interest groups, the Museum provides an outstanding visitor experience for all our visitors and through our learning activities and events, helps create advocates for the planet. The Learning & Events team lead the programme of activities in our galleries and collection spaces to support visitors of all ages to investigate the natural world. As part of the team, you will deliver hands-on engagement with schools and general visitors including our SEND audiences. Alongside delivering learning workshops and activities you will be part of the front of house team, answering visitor queries and proving outstanding customer service. Rota pattern includes weekends and bank holidays, and pattern may change to suit the operation of the Museum, with an appropriate period of notice given. There may be occasional evening work. Main tasks and responsibilities Preparation and delivery of school workshops and event activities. Taking and processing of school and event bookings. Responding to visitor comments and enquiries. Maintaining the Museum s handling collection. Be committed to complete all mandatory and ongoing professional training. To work collaboratively with different teams within the Museum. Be committed to the Museum s Thriving at the Museum framework in all aspects of day-to-day work. About you Demonstrable experience of leading high quality learning sessions to a range of different audiences, both in formal and informal settings. Proven experience of carrying out administrative tasks and record keeping. Demonstrable experience of working in a customer facing environment, with excellent customer service skills. Experience of working effectively as part of a team. Experience in working to standard operating procedures. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proven organisation skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure. An understanding of Health and Safety regulations. Ability to use own initiative. An interest in learning, natural history and heritage.
