About the Role: We are seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Tutor to provide dedicated 1:1 support to a non-verbal autistic student with complex needs. Your role will focus on tailored tuition and play-based therapy, helping the student engage with learning while managing sensory and emotional regulation challenges. Key Responsibilities: Deliver individualised, patient-led support for a student with limited communicative language and understanding of routines. Proactively manage dysregulation, hyperfocus, and sensory overload in busy environments. Use calming strategies to de-escalate challenging behaviours and minimise disruptions to learning. Create a structured, low-stimulation environment to foster engagement and safety. Collaborate with the family and other professionals to support the student’s development. Ideal Candidate: QTS or HE/FE qualified (essential) with 2 years’ UK teaching/tutoring experience. Specialism in Autism/SEN – particularly experience with non-verbal students. Strong understanding of sensory processing difficulties and de-escalation techniques. Adaptable, patient, and proactive – able to tailor approaches to the student’s needs.
