To monitor and manage patient call data forwarded from the Out of Hours call centre, ensuring clinicians are able to deal with all patients appropriately.

GP Out of Hours provides an urgent care service for primary care patients when the GP surgery is closed. Patients can be given telephone advice, attend the Primary Care Centre, or be visited at home if appropriate. GP Out of Hours services are delivered from Primary Care Centres and are open weekday evenings from 18.00-08.00 and weekends and bank holidays 24 hours.
Main duties of the job
A GP OOH receptionist's main duties include providing IT support and managing patient data, receiving and assisting patients at the Primary Care Centre, ensuring staff log in/out per procedures, and forwarding call details to the GP OOH vehicle. Handle general enquiries, maintain equipment, and support GPs with chaperoning when needed. Flexibility and excellent customer care skills are essential.

* Ability to communicate in a professional and caring manner
* Capable of dealing with sensitive or confidential matters
* Knowledge of medical terminology and prescription medications
* Experience of reception work
* Experience in a caring/medical background
