Due to our growth, we are looking for a Building Maintenance Manager. This is a great opportunity to gain first hand commercial experience in a rapidly growing business, delivering a professional, efficient and cost-effective maintenance for all of our UK restaurants. ROLE OVERVIEW • Multi-skilled trades person with experience in decorating, tiling, basic plumbing, carpentry and general building maintenance. • Working alongside the Head of Facilities and Facilities Managers to oversee and implement building maintenance for restaurants and on-site staff accommodation. • Become a point of contact for all maintenance contractors, assess quotes and manage maintenance activity alongside Facilities Managers. • Communicating with sites and management to plan and complete maintenance works. • Monitoring of the online maintenance platform, ProNett. • Maintenance of a geographic area of restaurants with further travel as business dictates. • Control and monitor all costs to ensure all activities take place in line with budget and are value for money. • Ensuring best practice and adhering to all Giggling Squid, legal and health and safety procedures always. • Always ensuring our business activities, including contractor work, take place safely and securely. • Assist the Head of Facilities in the compilation of the financial year’s budget for the areas of responsibility. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES • Adaptable and experienced in high pressure and time sensitive work conditions. • Experience of managing multiple contractors. • Strong time management and ability to plan site visits and complete maintenance works. • Experience in systems management to include maintenance and compliance. • Desirable to hold a Level 2 Certificate in Health & Safety. • Experience in working with a diverse workforce. • Valid UK driving licence. • Ability to communicate to both senior management and restaurant staff. • A focus on safety in everything they do. • Experience of working within the hospitality sector in a fast-moving and pressurised environment. • A confidence with budgets and figures in general. • High attention to detail and strong project-management skills.
