The Estates Directorate is seeking to recruit a skilled and motivated Engineering Manager to join the Estates Corporate Services Team.
The successful candidate will support in managing the performance of one of the largest PFI contracts in the region, providing a unique experience and opportunity to develop within the organisation while supporting clinical staff to deliver the highest standard of patient care.

Main duties of the job
* To assist and support the Associate Director - Estates Corporate Services and Operational Manager Estates Corporate Services to lead, manage and develop quality procedures regulating facilities services across the Trust's PFI Estate.
* Work closely with functional leads and specialist advisors to manage engineering systems including HTM safe systems of work throughout the PFI estate.
* Drive a programme of continuous improvement in service delivery, providing a patient environment of the highest standard.
* A key point of contact for the Trust in dealings with PFI partners, ensuring compliance with the PFI Agreement.
* Identify and promote opportunities to improve service delivery quality and efficiency.
* Maintain effective systems of performance management to ensure compliance with PFI requirements.
* Provide expertise in respect of performance indicators and national targets.
* Respond to complaints in line with the Trust's Complaints Procedure.
* Review and scrutinise the PFI's monthly performance report.
* Produce feasibility and business case reports as requested.
* Organise, attend and chair monthly Service performance Group meetings.
* Manage the delivery of engineering systems and performance through Service performance Group meetings.
* Conduct research and development surveys as required.
* Agree with PFI representatives on maintenance programmes involving potential clinical service disruption.
* Develop and implement an audit programme for all estates services.

Qualifications & Education
Essential
* Minimum of a degree in a related field (or equivalent qualification/experience) plus significant experience at an appropriate management level.
* A supplemental qualification such as membership of a professional body in building services or equivalent experience.
* Hold a full UK driving licence.
Knowledge & Experience
Essential
* A sound knowledge of national standards relating to facilities services, particularly PFI experience.
* Extensive experience in the operation and maintenance of engineering services in a large acute hospital.
