Team Leader – Day Shift (0600-1800) Tues-Fri
Reports To: Shift Manager
Job Summary:
We are currently looking for a Team Leader on the Day Shift, reporting to the Shift Manager, they will be responsible for the management and control of all staff on site, coordinating Materials, Production plan, Changeovers etc; to maximise production targets; and effective, informed decision making.
Main Duties and Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the effective operation and basic maintenance of production machinery
• To communicate daily with the engineering team to highlight any potential issues
• To safeguard food safety & product quality
• Working to defined procedures
• To maintain work area standards
• Leading a team by encouraging and demonstrating best practice and working towards the achievement of the team’s overall objectives and standards
• To oversee the effective and efficient use of all machinery, ensuring optimum line performance is achieved and the improvements to plant and business processes continue
• Ensuring that the factory is clean and tidy in accordance with the hygiene and cleanliness rules
• Ensuring the safety and hygiene on site is monitored and maintained to a high standard
• Assist in the compliance with all relevant internal and external standards GMP, ISO, HACCP, Allergen Controls, Environmental checks, Food Safety Audits, QMS and Health & Safety
• Advise and work with rest of Management team on issues that require addressing to ensure compliance with business needs in order to produce safe and legal products
• Presenting and leading team meetings to inform colleagues of production figures, quality issues and relevant business updates
• Develop and implement training plans
• Record and monitor plant efficiency, record and analyse plant breakdowns, delays and stoppages with an awareness of cost implications
• Where necessary plan production gaps to carry out engineering maintenance with least disruption to the department
Skills and Abilities:
• Proven ability to complete basic engineering maintenance tasks and production line changeovers.
• Excellent communication skills at all levels with a strong team working ethic.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to coach, mentor or develop others.
