Job Description
What is the opportunity? Physical safety and security are essential to the protection of RBC employees, clients, assets, operations and facilities from a wide range of threats, and it is necessary to minimize the negative business impact and interruption of these threats in order for RBC to achieve its business objectives. The Director, Europe and APAC Region Corporate Physical Security Officer (CPSO) is responsible for providing vision and strategic direction and is accountable for the strategy development and operations of the physical security and protection program in the Europe and APAC Regions. The CPSO is responsible for the regional strategic plan and execution of the physical security and protection strategy. What will you do?
1. Drive to ensure employees, board members, clients, contractors and other third parties, assets (including information assets), operations and facilities are safeguarded from potential compromise or harm.
2. Enable the business to operate securely, efficiently, and cost-effectively in alignment with RBC’s enterprise risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
3. Build a regional strategic and comprehensive Physical Security Protection Strategy that implements policies and processes that enable consistent, effective security practices while minimizing risk and ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, privacy and safety of RBC systems and employees.
4. Establish a committed, capable, and diverse workforce. Integrates effective performance management, employee development, talent management, succession planning, reward & recognition, and diversity routines into day-to-day management practices.
5. Communicate the responsibilities for those who have custody of RBC or customer physical assets, including information or information systems or for those who ensure the safety of RBC related people or premises.
What do you need to succeed? Must-Have:
6. Strong knowledge of strategy, management, and analytics; enterprise applications, data/information management and information delivery applications.
7. Proven experience working in large organizations in physical or cyber security.
8. Demonstrated experience in managing financials and working with budgets and a planning/forecasting cycle of reporting.
9. Undergraduate Degree, MBA designation or bachelor’s degree in computer engineering/science (or equivalent).

10. Ability to develop and sustain strong, credible relationships.
11. Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication and presentation skills.
