Property Facilities Management Assistant

HARP is Southend-on-Sea’s leading homelessness charity and every year we work with around 1,000 local people to help them overcome or avoid homelessness.

About The Role

Our support services rely on our Property Team, who maintain the fabric and safety of our buildings, to achieve HARP's goals. We are looking to recruit for a new post of Property Facilities Management Assistant, to support the Property Team Manager within the property department. This is a role with potential for personal growth and development within the organisation, with close interaction with the Property Team, Health and Safety Officer, and the Service teams managing the properties.
To be considered for this role you will need to:
* A good general knowledge of buildings and associated facilities.
* The ability to manage your workload independently and schedule planned visits.
* Clear communication skills – both verbal and written (face-to-face, phone, and email).
* A reasonable understanding of PAT testing, Legionella, and asbestos awareness – (training will be provided).
* Experience in or willingness to learn about property compliance, inspections, and minor maintenance tasks.
* A calm and professional approach, especially when responding to incidents or health and safety issues.
* A flexible, team-oriented mindset and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
* Have a clean current driving licence and access to a vehicle for transport, as most of the work will be carried out on-site at HARP properties.
