Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been exclusively re-engaged by an exciting growing business in Falmouth. The business seeks to recruit a Management Accountant who will work closely with the experienced Finance Manager who is focused on developing the skills and experience of the successful candidate. This is a full-time, permanent position to be based at the company’s headquarters in Falmouth.
Supported by the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will also take a mentoring role in supporting the more junior members of the team and take lead responsibility in:
1. Production of monthly and quarterly management accounts with accompanying commentary for the senior management team
2. Project costings
3. Cash flow forecasting
4. VAT reporting
5. Variance analysis
6. Weekly KPI reporting to deadlines
7. Working closely with procurement teams with ongoing projects
8. Provide senior finance team with key financial intelligence to assist in ongoing projects, financial analysis, and budget/target reporting
9. Commentating monthly financial reporting pack data to financial and non-financial department leaders
10. Provide assistance and support for quarterly reviews and annual budgets
11. Identify areas for improving financial performance of specific divisions of the business
12. Regular liaison with external accountants and consultants
This role calls for an ambitious candidate, either operating in a business partnering or management accounting capacity, or as a senior Assistant Accountant looking to take a step up. Candidates should be AAT qualified or possess sufficient vocational experience, have a good understanding of a typical day-to-day accounting lifecycle, and must possess excellent all-round IT aptitude. A generous study package will also be available if necessary. This is a role that regularly liaises with colleagues in all departments, and communication skills are a must.
