Supply Teachers Needed A few of the schools that I work with in Lydney often require Teachers on a weekly basis, on more of a supply basis rather than on a permanent basis. Therefore there is real flexibility to these roles, so would suit someone who would like to work varied shifts each week The shift patterns can vary depending on the school but a full day would typically be 8:30-3:30, and there are also shifts more like 9-3:30. The schools are great that we work with and are really welcoming to agency/supply staff With the supply shifts, they typically come to our attention a few days in advance, sometimes towards the end of the week for the next week We would pop you a call to let you know about the shift we have available and then you can confirm whether you’d like to do that This sort of work really suits individuals who are adaptable and flexible and looking for the odd shift here and there There are opportunities for roles to turn into more permanent positions so this would also suit someone who is edging their way into Teaching work and would like to gain some key experience first What will you do on a daily basis? You won’t need to plan any lessons with supply work, so you will be teaching pre-prepared lesson plans Ensure you are supporting students with their learning. Help with any assessment or exams if there are any on the days you are working Ensuring whatever tasks the usual teacher has given you have been completed.
