Specialist Teaching Assistant
Pay: £12.90 per hour / £83.85 per day
Full time: 8:30 – 3:30, Monday – Friday
Contract: Temporary, with the potential of a permanent contract offer (performance dependant)
Start date: 3rd February and continuing to the end of the academic year
At Teaching Personnel, we are the market leaders in education, providing additional support to schools in the local area across South Wales. We are proud to be working with a school within Cardiff, specifically in the Whitchurch area, which specializes in supporting young people with additional learning needs. We are currently looking for 2 Teaching Assistants to start on 3rd February 2025 to work full-time, supporting a range of pupils in both 1:1 and small group settings.
The young people are aged 3 – 19 and have a range of additional needs, including Social, Emotional, and Behavioral difficulties, as well as mental health challenges. Due to the nature of the young people's needs, we will need an experienced individual who is passionate about working in the Education Sector.
The following training would be advantageous (this list is not exhaustive):
* Team Teach Training (or other de-escalation training)
* Positive Behaviour Management trained (or equivalent)
* Background or understanding in Psychology / behavior analysis
* Trauma-informed understanding / qualification
The school is united by a collective of 3 sites, all situated in the same area but providing support to different aged pupils and needs. Your experience and knowledge will be considered to determine which site suits you best; this will be fully discussed before you commit to the role.
