Sales Manager - Rail/Marine - Engineering - Croydon, Surrey
£45000 to £55000 plus bonus
Hello Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting a Sales Manager for a large international engineering business based in Croydon. The key elements of the role are:
Core Responsibilities
1. Develop sales and marketing of service packages and spare parts in the UK for Rail products.
2. Work within the team to formulate, drive, and manage the development and execution of the rail and marine Sales Strategy to attract and expand new and existing business.
3. Maintain and build strategic alliances with key end users - OEMs, ROSCOs, TOCs and Service Providers.
4. Review and prepare quotations, tenders, and commercial enquiries to secure sustainable growth in sales.
5. Provide technical support to new and existing customers.
6. Prepare and participate in product presentations to customers and at exhibitions.
7. Review and report on market requirements and development.
Qualifications
1. Excellent knowledge of the UK rail industry.
2. Excellent understanding of mechanical rail components; electrical systems knowledge would also be an advantage.
3. Good experience of key account management and/or business development.
4. Proven personal organizational skills and project/bid planning skills.
5. Developed client contacts in the rail industry.
6. Able to create a healthy pipeline and deliver sales orders.
7. Able to prepare commercial offers with the support of the organization, engineering, procurement, etc.
8. Good grasp of commercial and contract negotiation.
9. Able to work independently and contribute to team goals.
Professional Experience & Education
1. Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent such as HNC.
2. Proven experience of a proactive approach to produce new business opportunities.
3. >5 years of experience in Sales in the UK rail sector is essential. Marine industry experience would be beneficial.
4. Strong contacts in the UK rail industry.
5. Able to produce Sales KPIs.
6. Good presentation skills and ability to work under own initiative.
7. Excellent communication skills required.
New Employees must pass a Drugs and Alcohol related Medical upon starting within the Company.
Package Details
1. Permanent Contract
2. Company Vehicle
3. Monday - Thursday, 8:30am to 16:30pm, Friday 8:30am - 15:30pm, a 36.5-hour working week.
4. £45k - £55k (dependent on experience)
5. Annual Bonus (pro rata on year of joining)
