Meta is seeking an experienced professional to lead our UK public policy strategy on high priority areas including youth, content issues, and AI regulation. You will join the UK Public Policy team, which leads all aspects of Meta’s public policy work in this priority market for the business. You will help shape product and policy conversations with policymakers in Parliament, in Government, and in the broader business sector/civil society.
The role requires significant experience either working with or in Government, politics, regulatory agencies, or think tanks in the UK, as well as the ability to grasp complex technical and policy issues. You will need knowledge of existing tech policy debates in the UK, ideally including expert knowledge of the issues around keeping young people safe online, online content rules, and championing the potential of AI models and products. First-hand experience with the UK legislative process will be an asset.

You will need deep knowledge of the UK’s technology, online platform, and AI landscape, particularly major academic centers, start-ups, trade bodies, government institutions, and public commentators. Equally important is an understanding of how to translate technical issues into persuasive public policy advocacy.
Successful candidates will enjoy public speaking and be excited about the possibility of representing Meta externally, including in difficult, high-stakes conversations with external stakeholders.
