Job Description
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance of existing production control systems, processes and procedures to maximize safety, quality and delivery and to minimize cost of manufacturing whilst ensuring data compliance, control and the flow of information between various departments.
About The Role
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Working with best practice standard work to deliver accurate system integrity for material management and information flow.
* Applying manufacturing system processes to actively increase information accuracy.
* Maintaining a data driven culture.
* Scheduling of production communications.
Specific Duties:
* Complete any minor or major engineering changes from shop floor, recording issues with proposed solutions and report all changes to Design Engineering.
* Propose and implement process changes to the Operations structure and flow.
* Provide technical assistance to Purchasing with regards to backup solutions in the case of shortages or poor-quality parts.
* Provide direction to Purchasing and Production in the event of issues such as fabrication errors, weldment errors, and assembly errors.
* Create and maintain all standard operation procedures (SOP)
* Lead NPI Projects.
* Ensure that all ECO’s are carried out on products to the most efficient manor, recording all serial breaks.
* Identify, purchase and co-ordinate the installation of tooling, equipment, machinery and capital expenditure projects.
* Co-ordinate and implement complex engineering changes.
* Co-ordinate the manufacturing and engineering side of the business, paying close attention to cost and quality.
* Review BOM and report and discrepancies as Internal Non-Conformances. Follow up on reported discrepancies ensuring immediate containment measure and effective corrective measures.
* Recommend and implement measures to motivate employees and improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and/or efficiency.

Desired Criteria
* Experience working with ERP / MRP style system.
Required Criteria
* Degree in Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering and at least 2 years experience in Manufacturing Engineering or a similar role.
* Experience within a welding / fabrication / fitting environment.
* Proficient in CAD, PDM, Pro-Engineer and MS Office (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
* Ability to effectively plan and prioritize in a busy environment.
* Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Stigma Processes
* Ability to work closely with others and independently.
* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
* Experience of working to deadlines and with other departments in a manufacturing setting
* Experience dealing with quality issues.
* Good problem solving skills.
