Temporary Crime and Intelligence Researcher/Admin

Pay Rate: £12.68 per hour PAYE
Hours per week: 37 Monday – Thursday 8am to 4.00pm & Friday 8am to 3.30pm
Role Length: This opening assignment is for 12 months

NB: Police Vacancy - only for candidates with a minimum of 5 years continuous UK address history. Please note that this vacancy is subject to a strict security vetting procedure.
The purpose of the role is to support analytical teams, by providing a research function, to assist in targeting resources in support of Lincolnshire policing priorities. Provide a high quality, customer focused, administrative support in accordance with the Staff Charter.
Key Responsibilities:
Research and interpret available information in relation to priority areas identified by the Analyst or as directed management.
Research information from computerised and manual source of records, relating to committed crime and disorder, intelligence, policing activities and law enforcement matters, in order to identify links and associations between suspected offenders and committed crimes. Identify information gaps and make recommendations for obtaining further intelligence.
Prepare reports summarising research findings for dissemination or further analysis as appropriate.
Assist in the dissemination of research by providing briefings and presenting the results of analysis to relevant parties including senior officers, external agencies and partners.
Research and prepare documentation to inform local Tactical Assessments.
Qualifications:
Full UK Car Driving licence.
HNC in a Business or Research discipline or substantive experience in similar role.
Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
Demonstrates experience of working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
Proven competence in using IT applications to input and extract data.
Demonstrates experience in the preparation, presentation and explanation of information.
Experience in the research of information from a variety of sources.
Able to demonstrate the values and behaviours outlined in the Staff Charter.
Communicates effectively and clearly both verbally and in writing avoiding jargon.
Demonstrates good keyboard skills and a familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
Demonstrates skills/knowledge of planning, co-ordinating and prioritising.
