Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen in our newly developed Day Procedures Unit which incorporates all elective day surgery and planned day case admissions. Patient admissions vary across planned blood transfusions, medication infusions, complex investigations and elective surgery across multiple specialties (Dental, Ophthalmology, general surgery, ENT, orthopaedics).
The post will involve supporting the multidisciplinary team in caring for children undergoing day procedures, preparing children for elective surgery and assisting within the multidisciplinary team to aid recovery from elective surgery. You will be supporting the trained nurses with duties and supporting the families and children during their stay in hospital. Within this role you will be communicating effectively and efficiently with multiple professionals to support the continuity of care across multiple clinical areas.
