Head of Underwriting Strategy and Performance - SCOR Business Solutions (SBS)

Job Description
We are seeking a driven and analytical individual to help us enhance underwriting performance (gross and net), strengthen portfolio diversification, and reduce volatility, whilst preparing for a softening market cycle.
Responsibilities
The key areas of responsibility are as follows:
* Analyse underwriting performance to identify areas for improvement and profitability enhancement.
* Support pricing and underwriting teams with data-driven insights for risk selection.
* Help with new business initiatives.
* Assess insurance portfolio composition and recommend strategies to enhance diversification.
* Assist with performance oversight and product deep dives.
* Help establish a framework in which we use internal and external data to a greater extent to measure potential volatility and what an optimal portfolio looks like (high-level and within the individual product lines).
Prepare for a Soft Market with Strategic Tools
* Help design analytical tools and dashboards to guide SCOR’s market positioning.
* Identify areas for growth and retractions based on market trends and internal performance metrics.
* Collaborate with underwriting and leadership teams to ensure data-driven decision-making in fluctuating market conditions.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following experience and competencies:
* Actuarial background is an advantage, but not a must.
* Strong numeric skills.
* Experience in insurance and underwriting.
* Ability to interact with stakeholders both locally in London and globally in a multicultural environment.
* Good team player, ability to develop network internally and externally.
* Strength in setting up and managing processes and projects.
