Is this role right for you?
The Internal Control Summer Internship is an exciting opportunity to join the London-based Internal Control team with a focus on the Global Banking & Markets division of a global bank headquartered in Canada for 10 weeks during Summer 2025. The programme will offer unique insights into many of the Bank’s business areas, learn the nature of the non-financial risk and control framework that protects the Bank, and enable you to understand how Internal Control oversees the strategies employed by the Bank to mitigate risks.
What will my responsibilities look like?
* Assist with implementing the control framework in the first line
* Help to administer various monitoring activities
* Prepare periodic reports for onward presentation
* Liaise with other control and support functions to co-ordinate approaches to risk mitigation
* Pool and manipulate sources of data for analysis and reporting
* Work on new initiatives designed to enhance business performance
* Review the local regulatory environment within which the bank operates
* Test existing control effectiveness
* Complete an intern project assignment and present it to the wider team
* Any other ad hoc work tasks assigned by management
Do you have the skills and requirements that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you:
* Are a penultimate year undergraduate student graduating in 2026
* Are a self-starter with an inquisitive mindset that is willing to learn
* Are proficient with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
* Are a team-player with strong communication skills
* Have a strong work ethic with excellent attention to detail and a focus to deliver
* Possess a reasonable standard of statistical literacy
