Job Summary The Intermediate DevOps Engineer is a member of the Product Development team whose primary responsibilities include implementing and maintaining the automated build and testing systems for product teams, introducing methodologies to balance needs throughout the software development life cycle, processes, and tools, from coding to development to maintenance and automated testing, monitoring health and tracking everything happening in all system parts during the software lifecycle. Work Location : In Office (Currently 3 days a week, subject to change) City : Surrey Type : full-time, Permanent Salary : $83,000 - $110,000 This range reflects the minimum and maximum target payable for the base salary of new hires across all Canadian locations. Actual compensation may vary outside this range and is dependent on various factors. Duties & Responsibilities Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Designing automated systems and environments to build and test products for a variety of platforms Defining monitoring and alerting criteria for services. (i.e. latency, response time, resource utilization, etc.) Troubleshooting problems in misbehaving applications, and providing detailed information to the appropriate development team to address the issue Defining and reviewing best security practices within our automated systems Establishing and documenting deployment/test tools and processes, automating processes to error-proof deployment where possible Maintaining and improving production, staging, development, and testing environments Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in software testing and automation Required or strongly preferred skills and abilities Strong technical communication and writing skills. Team player with strong interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Python, with experience in designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks, engineering pipelines, and scripts. Professional experience in Unix/Linux environments. Basic knowledge of computer networking systems, including hubs, switches, routers, TCP/IP, certificate management, IP routing, firewalls, and DNS. Ability to identify, analyze, and report software defects and issues affecting automation, and collaborate with the development team to resolve them. Knowledge of CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery and Deployment) tools such as Sonar, Jenkins (CI), Maven, Nexus, SVN, Git, and Docker. Experience working with cloud platforms for builds and testing (Google Cloud and/or AWS preferred). Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) implementation. Ability to mentor and train employees. Outstanding diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Minimum Qualifications: College diploma or university degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
