Are you looking for a rewarding full-time role supporting young people with additional needs? Teaching Personnel are working closely with a specialist SEND school in Winchester to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA).
This welcoming school supports children and young people with a range of diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Down’s Syndrome, non-verbal communicators, and wheelchair users. Every pupil has unique needs, and your role will be to help them access learning, develop independence, and feel confident and supported in the classroom.
The Role:
Full-time position, Monday to Friday during term time
Initially through Teaching Personnel with the opportunity to move to a permanent school contract after a successful probationary period
Working 1:1 or with small groups, supporting pupils with varied and complex needs
Assisting with personal care and mobility where needed
The Ideal Candidate:
Must be available full time and ideally seeking a long-term or permanent role
Experience with SEND (especially ASC, non-verbal communication, physical disabilities) is highly desirable
A calm, patient and caring attitude
Willing to support all aspects of a pupil’s school day, including personal care
A DBS on the update service (child and adult workforce) or willingness to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
