About the Role:
Our client, a well-established and growing company based in Plymouth, is seeking a dedicated Senior Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive individual with strong accounting experience to take the next step in their career.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and maintain the purchase ledger, ensuring all invoices are processed accurately and efficiently.
* Perform bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are correctly recorded.
* Oversee and manage payment runs, ensuring suppliers are paid on time.
* Take responsibility for pre-payments and accruals, ensuring accurate month-end reporting.
* Assist with the preparation of financial reports and analysis.
* Oversee and support junior members of the finance team, offering guidance and ensuring best practices are maintained.
* Collaborate closely with the senior management team, providing insights and financial updates as required.
About You:
The ideal candidate will possess:
* Proven experience in a similar accounting role.
* Strong knowledge of purchase ledger, bank reconciliations, payment runs, pre-payments, and accruals.
* Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
* Previous experience overseeing team members or providing mentorship.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
* A proactive attitude with a desire to improve processes and enhance efficiency.
