GSL Education are currently working with a Primary School based in Southampton who are seeking full-time Learning Support Assistants to work 1-1 and in small groups with primary pupils. The school has great facilities & close to public transport, the school’s focus is to give a nurturing approach to learning whilst making learning fun. This friendly school currently has an Ofsted report rated ‘Good’. The role is due to start in September for the right individual.
Successful applicants will support Class Teachers, ensuring pupils are interacting in the lessons, supporting the children's needs, and encouraging their learning. Previous experience in a similar role is desired but not essential.
To be successful you must be able to:
* Communicate clearly with Teachers and young individuals
* Create an encouraging learning environment for pupils
* Be understanding and caring
* Carry out tasks involving a computer or hand-device
* Remain calm during stressful situations
* Work on different activities conducted inside and outside school premises
Requirements:
* Must be a patient and reliable
* Be able to work well in a team
* Be proactive in meeting student's needs
* Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential
* A genuine passion for education and a commitment to the well-being of students
