Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Planning Engineer to join our team in Warrington, United Kingdom. As a Planning Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of our engineering projects in the water and energy sectors by developing, implementing, and monitoring project plans.
* Develop comprehensive project execution plans, schedules, and resource allocations
* Analyse the project requirements and create detailed work breakdown structures
* Identify potential risks, and propose mitigation strategies
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify all project requirements and agree timescales
* Utilise planning software (preferably Primavera P6) to produce tender stage programmes
* Conduct resource forecasting and optimisation to improve project efficiency
* Assist in the development of project budgets and cost estimates
* Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for planning processes
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or related field)
* Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering industry or related field
* Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6)
* Strong knowledge of CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
* Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
* Ability to develop and manage complex project schedules
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
* Experience in construction or infrastructure projects
* Knowledge of construction methodologies and techniques
* Understanding of project scheduling and resource allocation principles
* Familiarity with industry standards and regulations
* Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
* Professional certification in engineering/ project management (e.g., CEng or PMP) is desirable
