Sure Staffing is looking for a dedicated Mushroom Farm Manager to oversee all aspects of our mushroom cultivation operations. The Mushroom Farm Manager will be responsible for the planning, direction, and coordination of activities related to the production and harvesting of mushrooms. This will involve managing and training staff, ensuring the maintenance of equipment, and implementing quality control measures. The ideal candidate has a strong knowledge of mushroom biology, the ability to manage multiple tasks and staff members, and a commitment to safety and efficiency. Salary: £45.000 per annum Location: York YO43 Duration: Ongoing Working Hours of Mushroom Farm Manager: Rota basis 5 days per week to include weekends and Statutory Bank Holidays 6am-6pm Responsibilities Oversee the daily operations of the mushroom farm including planting, cultivation, and harvesting processes Manage and train farm staff to ensure productivity and efficiency Maintain farm machinery and equipment Implement quality control measures to ensure high-quality mushroom production Monitor mushroom growth and health and implement pest control measures as needed Ensure compliance with government regulations and health and safety standards Keep accurate records of mushroom production Manage budgets and prepare financial reports Stay updated on current trends and innovations in mushroom cultivation Qualifications Proven experience as a farm manager, preferably on a mushroom farm Knowledge of mushroom biology and cultivation techniques Strong organizational and leadership skills Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks Physical stamina and the ability to work in varying weather conditions Basic understanding of machinery and equipment maintenance Knowledge of safety and health regulations in agriculture Degree in Agriculture, Biology, or a related field is preferred Sure Staffing UK Limited are acting as an employment business for temporary assignments and an employment agency for permanent placements.
