Full-Time Job: Accounting, Data Analytics, Economics & Finance
The VP/Director of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) plays a key role in the execution of the firm’s investment strategy, leading transaction processes from sourcing to post-merger integration. This individual will work closely with senior leadership, portfolio companies, and external advisors to identify, evaluate, and execute acquisition opportunities that align with the firm’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deal Sourcing & Evaluation:
* Identify potential acquisition targets through market research, industry networking, and strategic outreach.
* Assist in developing financial models and conduct valuation analyses (DCF, LBO, precedent transactions, and comparable company analysis).
* Perform in-depth industry, market, and competitive analysis to assess investment opportunities.
* Lead financial, operational, and commercial due diligence processes in collaboration with internal teams and external advisors.
* Manage relationships with investment bankers, legal counsel, consultants, and other third-party advisors.
* Prepare investment memorandums, presentations, and recommendations for internal investment committees.
* Assist in structuring and negotiating transaction terms, including purchase agreements, earn-outs, and financing structures.
* Work closely with portfolio company leadership to develop and execute post-acquisition integration plans.
* Monitor performance of acquired businesses and provide strategic insights to maximize value creation.
* Support operational improvements and synergies within portfolio companies.
Qualifications & Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field (MBA preferred).
* 5+ years of experience in private equity, investment banking, corporate development, or a related M&A role.
* Strong financial modeling valuation skills with expertise in transaction structuring.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
* Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Knowledge of private equity investment strategies and capital markets.
* Must live in or willing to relocate to the Nashville TN area.
Preferred Skills:
* Experience in a specific industry sector (e.g., technology, healthcare, industrials, etc.) is a plus.
* Proficiency in financial software and databases.
* Strong leadership and team management experience.
