General Cover Teacher – Stockport Area

Teaching Personnel is looking for General Cover Teachers to provide support across a range of secondary schools in Stockport. This flexible role is ideal for teachers who are looking for a mix of teaching opportunities, offering the chance to work in different school environments and cover a variety of subjects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Covering pre-set lesson plans across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in subjects including Maths, English, Science, Humanities, and more.
* Ensuring that students remain engaged and on task while the regular teacher is absent.
* Managing classroom behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment.
* Providing feedback to students on their work and encouraging their academic progress.
* Helping students understand the importance of the lesson and maintaining continuity in their learning.
* Ensuring that students’ well-being is supported and that they follow school rules.
* Liaising with teachers and staff to keep up-to-date with class progress and any specific needs of the students.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Qualified teacher with QTS (or equivalent), or experience working in secondary schools.
* Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to step into a variety of subject areas.
* Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain a productive and positive learning environment.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to engage students with diverse learning needs and promote their academic success.
