About the job Job summary The Food Standard Agencys (FSA) Northern Ireland office operates adjacent to the FSA in Britain and Wales, and as such takes on a lot of important duties separately from the wider organisation. This means that it is particularly important that we offer all teams working within the Northern Ireland office robust support to enable them to get their work done and continue to protect the health of those in Northern Ireland and the wider UK. The FSA is looking for a Premises Officer who can ensure our team in Northern Ireland is always in the best position to deliver their important work in keeping food safe. Overseeing the smooth running of our offices in NI, as well as IT systems for the team, you will seek to deliver a consistent and reliable working environment while working to improve our environmental impact. Job description Though the FSA offers excellent flexible working opportunities for our employees, many still work from our physical offices, and you will be responsible for creating an environment that best supports them as they seek to deliver important work to protect consumers. From the coordination of onsite work by external contractors to liaising with stakeholders on matters surrounding our NI properties, your work will be varied. In managing the NI teams IT requirements, you will also ensure that we are able to deliver a consistent service - a vital quality to our work, as we seek to deliver positive results on time sensitive projects and in our responses to emerging food incidents. You will be motivated and organised, and able to manage your priorities to deliver against a number of concurrent targets whilst working at pace. Things you need to know Selection process details This vacancy is using Success Profiles (opens in a new window), and will assess your Behaviours and Experience. Application and shortlisting You will be asked to provide personal details (not seen by the Panel) and to confirm your eligibility to apply for the role. You will then be asked to complete an application which will be used to assess you against the following essential and desirable criteria. Essential criteria Experience Lead criteria: Experience of co-ordination of multiple tasks to time and to a high standard while managing a demanding workload with minimal supervision. Demonstrable record of delivering 2nd line IT support. Excellent communications skills - both written and verbal with proven ability to understand customer needs and respond appropriately. Strong IT skills with demonstrable use of utilising Microsoft Office in daily work (including Outlook and Excel). Desirable criteria (Desirable criteria will only be assessed in the event of a tie between candidates). Experience Office facilities support experience. Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office365, Sharepoint and Teams. Lead Criteria An initial sift will take place on the Lead Criteria. In the event that we receive a large number of applications, the minimum pass mark for the Lead Criteria may be raised at shortlisting stage.
