Role Purpose Based at the Toughsheet Community Stadium, we're looking for a creative marketer who is ideas driven, a confident writer and has extensive knowledge of social media trends. The successful candidate will assist with the club's digital and offline marketing strategy with a focus across the whole Bolton Wanderers business group. The candidate will also have a proactive approach to social content and in connecting with the wider communications strategy, will help to contribute to the continued growth of the business - both on and off-the-field. This role is fresh into the department, with the unique opportunity to shape and tailor the role with your own ideas and the ability to drive awareness of Bolton Wanderers across the board. Main Areas of Responsibility Work alongside the Head of Communication/Interim Head of Communications to raise awareness of Bolton Wanderers Football Club with a real focus on areas away from on-field matters. This focus is including but not exclusive to: Club Bolton hospitality, Bolton Stadium Hotel, BWFC Retail, Junior Whites, BWFC Commercial, Lotteries, Leasing Options Fan Zone, Matchday Activations. Lead on the management of the marketing database, as well as responsibility of the club's CRM campaigns for departments across the business. Co-ordinate with the media team in the delivery of a cross-channel calendar, ensuring ongoing data-driven approaches for all marketing matters. Conduct extensive market research to tailor marketing campaigns across the business. Excellent copywriting skills to support marketing collateral and the club's official website and app. Provide assistance, when required, to marketing for Bolton Wanderers in the Community. Assist in the delivery of club partner marketing activation requirements. Adhere to and uphold Bolton Wanderers' brand guidelines. Support all general marketing requirements. General Responsibilities Be an ambassador of the Group, providing excellent customer service at all times whilst portraying a professional image. Perform other duties as required, which are considered relevant to the post and to the objectives of the Group as identified by the Interim Head of Communications/Head of Communications. About The Candidate Essential Requirements Experience Previous experience of utilising and managing CRM systems. Knowledge, Skills and Qualities A demonstrable passion for marketing. A confident writer with an excellent grasp of the English language and a good instinct for appropriate tone and style. Good knowledge and competency across key social media platforms including Facebook, X, Instagram and LinkedIn. Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to confidently proof-read. An understanding of and a willingness to keep learning about the latest digital trends. A creative at heart with an organised head. The ability to prioritise workload and take the initiative. A true team player who loves to work with others to deliver the best for the club and its fans. Essential Requirements Qualifications Relevant degree or equivalent qualification. Experience Previous experience working in the football or sports industry in a marketing role. Experience working in a business capacity across all key social media platforms. Experience managing the backend of websites. Copywriting experience. Knowledge, Skills and Qualities A track record of working across marketing campaigns and developing content.
