Job Title: Senior Recruitment Consultant at Redline Group
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Development Engineer to join a leading global company in Coding and Marking solutions, based in Cambridgeshire.
The ideal candidate will report to the Engineering Manager and be responsible for designing and developing mechanical hardware solutions for the New Product Development (NPD) team. This role involves both hands-on work and theoretical tasks. Key responsibilities include:
1. Designing, developing, and building test equipment and rigs to support validation and verification activities.
2. Defining and documenting system-level hardware specifications to ensure safety, performance, and regulatory compliance.
3. Performing V&V testing, including validation, prototyping, debugging, and performance modeling.
4. Collaborating with cross-functional teams (Mechanical, Electrical, Physics, Chemistry, Software) to drive product development and project success.
5. Creating detailed technical documentation, reports, and test plans.
6. Participating in FMEAs, design reviews, and defining product specifications.
The successful candidate will have:
* Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, fluid systems, system integration, and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in CAD tools (Creo) for mechanical design and system integration.
* Hands-on experience with mechanical manufacturing techniques (milling, lathe, etc.).
This role is based in Cambridgeshire with a hybrid work arrangement (4 days in the office, 1 day remote).
