Our client, a Multi-Disciplinary Consultancy, is currently recruiting for a Building Control Manager to join them on a full-time, permanent basis from their growing Leeds office. In this role, you will be expected to lead on major commercial and domestic projects. You will support and build relationships with clients by providing proactive building regulations plans and site assessment services on a diverse range of projects.
Building Control Manager / Head Of Building Control Position Overview
1. Carry out the relevant sections of the current Building Regulations, Building Act 1984, Public Health Act, and allied legislation relating to demolition, dangerous structures, and construction.
2. Work in accordance with all corporate policy and guidelines and ensure a comprehensive customer-focused Building Control Service to residents and businesses following guidance outlined by the BSR.
3. Responsible for the learning and development of direct reports and provide cover for the Building Control MD as appropriate.
4. Deliver service activities and manage major caseloads to ensure intended outcomes for customers are delivered within agreed service standards.
5. Responsible for leading, coaching, and mentoring surveyors and admin team members - supporting their professional development and promoting company culture.
6. Work closely with the Building Control MD to ensure the team is delivering against company objectives.
Building Control Manager / Head Of Building Control Position Requirements
1. Possession of a recognised professional qualification giving membership of an appropriate body (RICS, ABE, CIOB, ISE).
2. A fully qualified building control surveyor at a senior or principal level with experience dealing with commercial and domestic projects.
3. Extensive building control knowledge in structural engineering, fire safety, access and facilities for disabled persons, and building services.
4. Ability to coach, mentor, and develop junior staff.
5. Ability to investigate relevant issues according to experience and knowledge and produce competent written and verbal briefings on complex issues to a variety of audiences.
6. The ability to carry out site inspections having regard to corporate and industry health and safety policy and guidelines.
7. Full UK driving licence.
Building Control Manager / Head Of Building Control Position Remuneration
1. Salary: £65k - £75k (Dependent on experience - Guide only).
