Part time working will be available to successful applicants. An 8A candidate will have post qualification experience in LD and enjoy working in the specialty or maybe looking to broaden their experiences and apply your transferable skills to support adults with LD. We are a small friendly team of practitioner psychologists dedicated to working with individuals with learning disabilities and their families and carers. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join us. You will also work alongside other professional groups including community nurses, psychiatry, speech and language therapy and occupational therapy as well as multi-agency colleagues. We nurture our staff & their development with regular clinical supervision (individual & peer group), job plans, annual appraisals and training needs analyses in line with pathway & professional needs. Recent CPD has included EMDR, Compassion focused, and narrative therapy, trauma-based PBS and heads and hearts reflective practice model. Research and service evaluation is encouraged. Main duties of the job To provide a highly specialist clinical psychology service to adults with a learning disability, their families and their carers to include: Specialist psychological assessments, development of formulations, and implementation of psychological interventions within the scientist-practitioner framework. To draw upon an extensive knowledge of psychological theory in order to interpret complex information and communicate this to others in an accessible way. To work with others including: multi-disciplinary and multi-agency colleagues, and provision of specialist advice and consultancy as required. To work autonomously within the boundaries of the Code of Practice of the HCPC, local trust policies and to be accountable for own professional actions. To plan and prioritise their own workload. To provide a lead specialist role in psychologically based assessments and interventions within a team and offer specialist advice and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to diagnosis and treatment. To supervise work of less experienced psychologists, counsellors, clinical psychology trainees, assistant or clinical associate psychologists. To undertake audit, Research and Development within the learning disability service and Continued Professional Development activities.
