Priory Hospital Cardiff is recruiting a Receptionist to join our team.
Priory Hospital Cardiff is a modern mental health treatment unit, including accommodation for 4 patients and a variety of facilities, such as three secure gardens, a gym, patient practice kitchens, patient social area, art rooms, and dedicated support service areas. The service is currently being developed to provide bespoke treatment packages for a variety of patients with complex mental health needs, promoting independence in a modern, homely environment.
We are looking for organised, motivated, and friendly individuals to join our team on a permanent basis. As the first point of contact for the hospital, this is an interesting and varied role, incorporating a wide range of duties to ensure an efficient service to our patients and wider on-site team.
The reception area will be manned 7 days a week, so the role will involve structured weekday and weekend working. Shift times will be 7am till 7pm (inclusive of a 1.15-hour break). Shift patterns will include four shifts one week and three shifts the following week, on a rolling rota, including working every other weekend.
Responsibilities:
1. Act as the first point of contact for patients and visitors.
2. Manage reception duties and ensure efficient service delivery.
3. Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate empathy in all interactions.
4. Prioritise tasks and manage time effectively in a busy environment.
5. Utilise IT systems for scheduling and communication.
Minimum Requirements:
Previous experience in a reception or administration role is preferred but not essential. The ideal candidate will possess great written and verbal communication skills and feel confident speaking and engaging with a wide variety of people. Although not essential, IT literacy is preferred with a good understanding of programmes such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and the use of Outlook Calendar. Training will be provided.
