You have a planning-related degree and MRTPI membership, demonstrating up-to-date knowledge of planning legislation. Through your excellent organizational skills and ability to communicate effectively, you navigate tight deadlines and present clear, concise reports. You have the capacity to manage both routine and complex planning applications, displaying initiative and a mature awareness of group responsibilities. With a current driving license, you are prepared for site visits and office meetings alongside remote work. What the job involves This role entails handling various planning applications and associated queries, providing advice to applicants and third parties, and representing the Council at appeals and meetings. Responsibilities include investigating alleged planning control breaches, attending Court when necessary, and supporting departmental planning activities. Progression within the career grade structure is based on qualifications and experience, with duties evolving accordingly. The position offers a hybrid working model, with expectations to conduct site visits and office attendance while supporting home working. As you advance, you will lead local inquiries, manage complex projects, contribute to staff training, and represent the Council in higher-level negotiations.
