GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support to join a supportive SEN school in Verwood. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students with diverse learning needs.
About the Role:
As an SEN Learning Support, you will be responsible for supporting students with Special Educational Needs. You will work closely with teachers and other staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment, helping students to develop both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities of SEN Learning Support:
* Support Individual Learning Plans: Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
* Provide Targeted Support: Offer one-on-one and small group support tailored to students’ needs, ensuring they receive the attention and assistance required to succeed.
* Monitor Progress: Track and assess student progress, adapting support strategies as necessary to ensure each student is progressing towards their goals.
* Collaborate with Staff and Parents: Work closely with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to each student’s education and well-being.
* Create a Positive Environment: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported.
* Engage and Motivate Students: Use a variety of methods to engage and motivate students, catering to different learning styles and preferences.
* Maintain Records: Keep detailed records of each student’s progress, including assessments, observations, and feedback, and communicate this information to relevant parties.
Requirements of SEN Learning Support:
* Experience: Prior experience in supporting students with Special Educational Needs is essential.
* Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills for effectively interacting with students, parents, and colleagues.
* Relationship Building: Ability to establish and maintain strong, supportive relationships with all members of the school community.
* Commitment: Demonstrate a deep commitment to helping students with SEN, exhibiting patience and empathy.
* Qualifications: Relevant qualifications or training in SEN education (desirable but not essential).
