Purpose: The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the overall maintenance and repair of the manufacturing site to ensure production interruptions are kept to a minimum, in addition to working on the installation and commission of a new manufacturing facility.
Scope: The candidate must be able to demonstrate they are able to work and communicate effectively to all levels within the organisation, up to and including directors. The Maintenance Engineer is required to take a lead role in the evaluation of maintenance processes, developing improvements, improving efficiency and product/process assurance. Responsibilities:
1. Responding to equipment breakdowns and concerns
2. Completion of reactive mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks
3. Conducting planned maintenance (PM) in line with the maintenance schedules to include recording any reactive actions that are required.
4. Performing condition based monitoring (CBM) of equipment
5. Ensure that spare parts are available to perform maintenance and improvement activities, to include selection and ordering of parts
6. Analysis of plant and equipment to identify key areas for performance improvement, to include data generated through the Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
7. Assists with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions
8. Update the Maintenance Systems (CMMS) as required to ensure traceability of actions
9. Maintains safety, health and environmental policies and procedures and is a role model for safety in the workplace.
10. Communicates directly with operations department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas
Person Specification:
1. Minimum 3 years' experience as qualified maintenance engineer in a manufacturing environment is essential
2. A relevant Engineering Qualification (Mechanical or Electrical) to Level 3 NVQ or BTEC is essential.
3. IPAF is desirable
4. Detailed knowledge of maintenance processes
5. Proven evidence of a hands-on approach in previous roles
6. Experience within continuous improvement environment
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills
8. Excellent planning and organisation skills
9. Ability to prioritise, adapt and respond to change
10. Applicants must have a full UK driving licence
Please note we run the following shift patterns: Days - Monday to Thursday, 46 hours. Nights - Monday to Wednesday, 36 hours.
