We are seeking an experienced Signaling Design Manager to lead a dynamic team in the Stockport office.
Opportunity
As Design Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day output of a talented team of up to 10 engineers, working on a portfolio of projects across the S&T Western Framework and the Southern Rail Systems Alliance (SRSA). Reporting directly to the Head of Design, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality, technically robust signaling designs, working across GRIP stages 1-8.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing and mentoring junior and less experienced engineers.
* Leading the delivery of signaling and telecoms designs for major frameworks and contracts.
* Collaborating with internal teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
* Contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and methodologies.

Essential Criteria:
1. A strong background in the signaling industry, with robust technical design expertise across the full GRIP 1-8 lifecycle.
2. Knowledge of commercial principles and project management experience.
3. The ability to produce GRIP 4 designs is highly desirable.
4. Exceptional communication skills to manage relationships with stakeholders and subcontractors effectively.
