Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Operations Manager to oversee the delivery of high-quality care within our facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in residential children's home care. This role requires exceptional leadership skills and the ability to manage care plans effectively while supervising a team of managers to ensure the well-being of our young people.
This is a child-centred and dynamic role. The role supports registered managers to deliver outstanding care, enabling them to be autonomous in facilitating ambitious outcomes for children in our care. The role delivers quality business within the financial specifications for each home, builds positive relationships with placing authorities, and promotes positive staff well-being by delivering outstanding employee support.
Responsibilities
* Provide highly effective and visible leadership across the residential children’s homes.
* A strong commitment to safeguarding, including Health & Safety, for children and young people.
* Participate in decision-making with the RM regarding the review of referrals and admitting children to our homes for whom we feel we can keep safe and make a positive impact on their lives.
* Be forward-facing and build key relationships with professionals to enable good business operations across the homes.
* Ensure the home and décor are maintained to a high standard and have oversight of health and safety compliance.
* Manage and implement change to help grow the business, including taking on the RI role for new homes in the business (maximum 6 homes per full-time working).
* Display good commercial acumen to develop operationally viable and cost-effective solutions to business development opportunities, developing and working on bids in line with legislation and customer specifications. Manage contracts with placing authorities.
* Proactively manage known areas of challenge, e.g., recruitment.
* Implement quality assurance practices to monitor and evaluate standards of individual and team performance, supporting the company to continuously improve upon quality.
Qualifications
* Level 5 NVQ in Leadership and Management.
* Strong understanding of children's home care practices.
* Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
* Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with an empathetic approach towards the homes manager and their teams.
* Minimum 3 years of experience managing a Children's Home with OFSTED inspections receiving at least "Good".

Experience:
* Registered Manager: 3 years (preferred)
