Role: Further Education Teaching Assistant

Hours: Full time, permanent, term time only
Salary: £14.45 - £15.20 per hour

We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a highly regarded specialist further education college in Bournemouth. This role is perfect for someone who is patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic about helping students with Autism and associated mental health conditions reach their full potential.
About the role:
As a Further Education Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students aged 16 - 25 who require tailored learning support. Your role will involve:
* Supporting students in small groups or on a 1:1 basis, helping them engage in lessons and develop their confidence
* Assisting in the delivery of personalised learning programmes to support independence and life skills
* Encouraging participation in structured activities, including vocational and academic learning
* Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and key workers to provide a holistic and nurturing learning environment
* Adapting learning materials and using specialist resources, including ICT, to ensure accessibility for all students
* Providing support with social communication, emotional regulation, and managing behaviours positively
What we’re looking for:
* Experience working with young people with Autism, SEND or complex learning needs
* A positive, proactive and patient approach to supporting students
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A willingness to learn and adapt to different student needs
* A Level 2 / 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
