Who we’re seeking: We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and furnishing homes to create stylish, impactful, and inviting spaces that meet Omaze’s brand and quality standards. This role involves selecting furniture, decor, colour schemes, and materials, as well as coordinating with internal and external teams to deliver cohesive, high-quality interiors for our housing portfolio. What you’ll do: Design Concept Development: Collaborate with the design team to develop and implement cohesive design concepts that align with our brand aesthetic and market positioning. Furniture and Decor Selection: Source and select furniture, decor, textiles, and materials, ensuring each item contributes to an attractive and functional living space. Space Planning: Create efficient and visually appealing layouts that optimise functionality, flow, and wow factor in each home. Project Coordination: Work closely with internal and external teams to coordinate timelines, installations, and deliveries, ensuring timely and smooth project execution. Quality Control: Oversee installations and staging of homes, ensuring all furnishings and decor are placed according to the design plan and meet quality standards. Trend Awareness: Stay updated on design trends, materials, and furnishing innovations to bring fresh, relevant ideas to each project and maintain a competitive edge. Budget Management: Assist in developing and managing project budgets, working with external teams to source high-quality items that balance cost and design value. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain clear documentation of design choices, layouts, and inventory for each project, providing regular updates to the VP, Property & Partnerships and Art Director. Our ideal candidate has: Experience: 4 years of experience in interior design, preferably with a focus on residential design, home furnishing, or property staging. Design Proficiency: Strong knowledge of interior design principles, furniture sourcing, space planning, and colour theory. Great Taste: You live and breathe interiors and keep up to date with brands in the space and what’s trending. Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar) and familiarity with project management tools. Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail and accuracy to ensure all design elements align with brand standards and contribute to cohesive spaces. Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively while maintaining high standards. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate efficiently with internal teams and convey design decisions. Adaptability: Flexible and adaptable to project changes and deadlines, with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Physical Requirements: Ability to regularly travel to project sites, oversee installations, and occasionally assist with moving or arranging furnishings as needed. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field. Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with a range of furniture, decor, and material suppliers, and an understanding of sourcing and purchasing. Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing previous residential design or staging projects, including a range of styles and furnishings. Note: Primarily based in London, but travel will be required to various locations around the UK for installation periods and project reviews.
