Situated within 120 acres of National Trust owned farmland, the Lorica Trust has managed the land since 2004, fostering a thriving community focused on alternative provision for young people.
Job Overview
As a Housing and Farm Community Support Worker at East Clayton Farm, you will play a crucial role in supporting the residents of the Farmhouse accommodation on a licence of up to 2 years. You will motivate and inspire residents to engage with their tenancy agreement, teaching tenancy sustainment skills in readiness for moving into long term accommodation. Support residents to involve themselves in the land-based activities in collaboration with the Lorica Trust and provide effective housing management of the property.
Please note that due to the rural location, a full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
Provide housing and therapeutic support to residents, ensuring successful accommodation sustainment.
Collaborate with Lorica Trust staff and volunteers to enhance the thriving community.
Develop and implement flexible, psychologically informed support strategies for residents.
Understanding of health and safety requirements within a residential environment.
Facilitate access to mental health/substance misuse and health services.
Assist with benefits, budgeting, life skills, and overall support for residents.
Promote health, independence, and community participation among clients.
Providing support to move on into more independent accommodation when appropriate
About You
Passion for supporting and developing the talents and aspirations of residents.
Enthusiasm for working on the land and with animals.
Ability to work effectively with internal and external partners.
Ability to motivate and inspire residents to positively engage with the existing community, and also with voluntary and work opportunities.
Be creative in thinking and have great communication skills.
Possess good IT skills including a working knowledge of Excel.
