Our Role
To support the Clothing Designers across the design and development of the clothing range with particular emphasis on the selection and execution of all bought artworks, new print designs and all motifs, artworks and embroideries. This role will work across Womenswear, LWC and Nightwear.
What you'll be doing
* To work closely with Designer and Buying Teams to range build an exciting, commercial well balanced range.
* To ensure all artwork is in a format that technically can be submitted to suppliers for accurate sample production (including all colour standards and colour ways). Fully CAD trained (Illustrator and Photoshop essential).
* To develop technical drawings and artworks as directed by the Designer and with day to day briefing and direction from the LWC buying team to ensure the collection is translated commercially. Ensure range plan sheets are updated throughout the product development process.
* To assist in the research and creation of mood boards at the beginning of each season alongside the Creative team ensuring that the brand handwriting is adhered to.
* To contribute design ideas across all girlswear product categories, demonstrating commercial awareness and an understanding of both the customer and competitor market. To undertake market and trend research including comparative shop reports and seasonal forecasting.
* To set up clear and accurate briefs for each TWC style and work closely with the garment tech and Buyer to establish specifications for first samples. To liaise with suppliers thereafter as required.
* To have a good technical understanding of garment construction in order to hand over designs to the QA team for them to then create specs and to attend fit sessions and be able to communicate clearly how you saw your design translated.
* To gain an understanding of TWC design team by assisting them in the workload of the whole Clothing Department (Daywear, Nightwear, Lounge, Gifting & Accessories) ensuring that you can prioritise your workload to assist any area depending on the priorities of the Clothing department at key times within the Clothing critical path.
* To assist in the admin around the logging, tracking and storing of TWC/LWC bought clothing samples and print artworks.
* To assist the Daywear department in the generation of CAD range plans.
* To assist where necessary in the design &/or recolouring of prints for TWC Clothing ranges when requested.
* To have the ability to strategically plan their own work load and to be extremely organised.
The skills and qualifications you’ll need
* CAD trained (Illustrator & Photoshop)
* Graduate level or equivalent. Design/creative background.
* Excellent creative and commercial ability; an eye for product and brand.
* Love for all thing’s related to Clothing at TWC / LWC.
