The project is a college replacement scheme for the Department for Education, providing 8000m² of teaching space across two new 3-storey buildings on a live college campus. The new buildings consist of insitu RC concrete frame construction with a mix of masonry and a built-up cladding system on an SFS frame, with curtain walling & windows, a bituminous flat roofing system, and internal partitions and finishes.
With a proven track record of supporting the construction and completion of similar projects, on time and on budget, reporting to the Project Manager, the role will include the following duties:
1. Follow the Construction Phase Plan (Project Management Plan), including all site procedures and practices and completing records and documentation.
2. Ensuring compliance with the health and safety Management Plan and BAM Operating Procedures.
3. Ensuring construction environmental procedures are implemented on site.
4. Keeping a site diary including records of subcontractor attendance and progress.
5. Ensuring that appropriate quality records are being produced and monitored to verify that the works are being completed in accordance with the specified requirements.
6. Managing direct and subcontract labour and the keeping of records and allocation sheets.
7. Advising on buildability issues as required.
8. Setting up and monitor handover schedules, keys, spares, and completion documentation.
Who are we looking for?
1. A broad construction-based technical experience.
2. A proven track record of supporting the construction and completion of similar projects on time and on budget.
3. A relevant Health & Safety qualification and be competent to carry out site management tasks they are directed to do.
4. Confident in the use of IT packages and systems.
5. Self-motivation.
6. HNC/Degree, MCIOB or equivalent (S/NVQ level 5, 6 or 7) or a trades background.
