Job summary Osborne Court provides a range of services to support children and adults with learning disabilities in Worcestershire - an adult short breaks service, a childrens short break service, supporting individuals and families through complex and difficult situations. We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Nurse to support the unit manager in leading the childrens team in delivering a clinically effective service with the overarching aim that the children and young people who attend the service feel welcome, safe, confident, and keen to stay, thus providing a positive experience for all concerned. The post holder must provide support and direction to the team to ensure that the service is compliant with both OFSTED and CQC requirements as this is a dual registered service. Whilst the post holder has specific management and leadership responsibilities for the childrens team, they must work closely with the adults team to ensure smooth and effective operation of both adults and childrens services that are co-located on the site. Main duties of the job The post holder will support the unit manager in leading the childrens team in delivering a clinically effective service with the overarching aim that the children and young people who attend the service feel welcome, safe, confident, and keen to stay, thus providing a positive experience for all concerned. Provide support and direction to the team to ensure that the service is compliant with both OFSTED & CQC requirements as this is a dual registered service. The post holder will be required to assist the service users with personal care, moving and handling, supporting them to participate in a range of activities, socialising and making and maintaining friendships. Admit and discharge service users, manage medication and carry out clinical interventions, i.e enteral feeding and oxygen therapy. The post holder will need confidence to lead a shift and delegate responsibilities. They need a supportive and positive attitude and will be required to carry out staff supervision and training. They will act as a Named Nurse to a group of service users and therefore, experience in developing care plans, attending meetings, and carrying out home visits and assessments is essential. Excellent communication skills are essential as the role involves regular communication with families and other professionals involved in the care of our adult service users.
