We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic OT to join our MDT. We are a friendly and supportive MDT.
We have an opportunity in Oake Meadows nursing home, our bedded unit in Taunton.
You need to be a car driver with a valid driving licence or have access to transport with appropriate business insurance in order to travel throughout the Trust, to meet the needs of the service.
Main duties of the job
In this post, you will be supported to :
Develop, use and be creative with your OT skills to work holistically and look deeper than the original diagnosis
Have the freedom and support to act in patients' best interests "what matters to you"
Connect with, assess and treat patients who may have diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions
Work with patients, to set personalised goals and individual treatment programmes
Work with patients, their families and the MDT to plan and implement discharge
Organise, prioritise and plan your own caseload
Clinically supervise other members of the team
Take a role in the development of the Intermediate Care Service within Somerset
Your professional supervision, includes support from the team leader who is an experienced AHP therapist, working with you in intermediate care. Links with other occupational therapists within the intermediate care service will be supported.
The Occupational Therapy leads and Occupational Therapists across all agencies in Somerset are working together to implement our OT strategy with the aims of better experience for staff, better experience of care, better outcomes and values.
