Main Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, ensuring that all students are challenged and supported.
Act as a tutor to a group of students, monitoring their academic progress and supporting their personal development.
Collaborate with the school community to foster a positive learning environment and communicate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents.Key Teaching and Learning Duties:
Teach according to the school timetable using a variety of teaching methods to ensure lessons are stimulating, inclusive, and in line with best practices.
Assess student progress through regular evaluations, including homework, class participation, and formal assessments, and maintain accurate records in the school database.
Work with Learning Support Assistants and Technicians to provide a supportive environment tailored to individual learning needs.
Attend parent evenings and staff meetings, sharing updates on student progress as required.Tutoring Responsibilities:
Monitor and support the academic journey of each student in the tutor group, ensuring high standards in conduct, uniform, and attendance.
Serve as the main point of contact for parents, providing updates and addressing any concerns regarding students in the tutor group.
Encourage students' participation in school activities, including extracurricular clubs and the school's House System.General Duties:
Uphold the school's performance management and self-evaluation processes.
Adhere to school policies and contribute to the school's broader goals, including those set out in the School Development Plan.
Participate in supervisory duties and ensure a safe learning environment for all students.Person Specification:
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
Degree in a relevant subject area.
Recognized teaching qualification (DfE).
Strong subject knowledge and an up-to-date understanding of effective teaching practices.
Proficiency in using ICT to enhance learning.Desirable Experience:
Familiarity with school self-evaluation processes.
Evidence of ongoing professional development.Skills and Attributes:
